Denver Kids, Inc.’s Partnerships and Programs Produce Results

There have been a few reports recently released that validate what we already know, that Denver Kids, Inc. is making an important contribution to student achievement in our city.  As we sift through these reports and look at what is working, it becomes clear that the program model of Denver Kids, Inc. is comprehensive and has produced results consistently over time, even when circumstances have changed tremendously for our children.

One report recently presented to the Board of Education by Denver Public School (DPS) staff is entitled Preparing Our Students for Graduation and Beyond:  Multiple Pathways to Graduation and Post-Secondary Success. One promising result shared during this presentation is that DPS is making progress, and a key indicator of that progress is DPS’ overall rate of ninth graders who are on track to graduate is 83 percent, compared to 68 percent in 2007.
